Vaporeon-EX sits at #24 in Generations, the Pokemon TCG expansion released in 2016. PackRip's catalogue logs it as a rare holo ex pokémon and credits the illustrated by Naoki Saito as the artist of record.
Vaporeon-EX appears in 4 printings across PackRip's catalogue. The Generations (2016) #24 card is one of 4 printings spanning 2005–2025. Naoki Saito only illustrated this Generations version; other printings credit Hikaru Koike. Other Vaporeon-EX printings sit at Double Rare, Special Illustration Rare rarity tiers, so this Rare Holo EX Generations card is not interchangeable for set-completion or value purposes. Stat-line drift across reprints is real — this printing prints at 180 HP, while other Vaporeon-EX cards in the catalogue range from 120 to 280 HP. For the full cross-set comparison see the Vaporeon-EX hub page.
HP: 180 · Type: Water · Weakness: Grass ×2 · Retreat cost: 3 energy
In our latest large-scale simulation of 1,000,269 booster packs using authentic Generations era pull-rate models, this exact printing was pulled 15,165 times. This represents an empirical simulation frequency of 1.5161%, confirming the mathematical model's alignment with historical collector data.
Generations (February 2016) is the special 20th-anniversary set at 117 cards, released alongside the Pokémon Red & Blue 3DS re-releases. It celebrates the original Kanto era with Charizard-EX, Blastoise-EX, Venusaur-EX and M Charizard-EX, plus the 32-card Radiant Collection subset (numbered RC1–RC32) of premium full-art and holo reprints. Generations was sold mainly in bundled Generations packs rather than standard booster boxes, which makes sealed product scarce. Pack composition matches the 10-card XY layout (1 Rare + 3 Uncommon + 4 Common + 1 Energy + 1 Reverse Holo).
Pokemon-ex are the EX-era ultra-rares — high-HP, two-prize Pokemon with a distinctive mirror-foil border. Their rare-slot frequency is roughly 5%, equating to one EX every five-to-six packs on average. PSA 10 Charizard-ex (Crystal Guardians) and Mewtwo-ex (Ruby & Sapphire) regularly clear four-figure prices.
The 1 in 66 pull chance is calculated from the Generations rare-slot composition modelled in PackRip's pack generator. Because rare slots are split between Holo Rare, Pokemon-ex, Secret Rare, Shining, Crystal and Gold Star tiers (depending on the era), individual ultra-rare odds can run an order of magnitude lower than headline 1-in-3 holo-slot rates.
The current TCGPlayer market median for Vaporeon-EX Generations #24 sits at approximately $21.03 USD (Unlimited edition), placing it in the budget binder bracket. Market value depends heavily on grading: PSA 9 copies typically sell at a meaningful premium over raw, and PSA 10 (gem mint) population reports drive a steeper premium for popular ultra-rares. PackRip uses TCGPlayer's market median as its in-game sell-price source.
If you'd rather guarantee this card than chase the 1 in 66 pull, PackRip's Pack Dust crafting system lets you spend 200 dust from the Generations pool. Every Generations pack you open contributes dust to that pool — duplicates pay 30% extra. Dust is per-set on purpose so you can't fund a Crystal craft with Common dust from an easier set.

The Mega Evolution era is live too, through Chaos Rising (2026), bringing back Mega Evolution as Mega Pokémon ex with the gold Mega Hyper Rare chase tier. The Diamond & Pearl + Platinum-era Lv.X mechanic is live across thirteen distinct Sinnoh and Platinum chase pulls with the silver/ice-blue/white shimmer overlay, the HGSS-era Prime + LEGEND tiers are live, the full Black & White era ships with Full Art Pokemon-EX, Dragon-type cards (Dragons Exalted), and the first-ever Gold Secret Rares (Boundaries Crossed onwards), the XY era spans the inaugural Mega Evolution debut through Primal Clash's alpha/omega Ancient Traits and the gold BREAK Evolution cards, the Sun & Moon era debuts GX, and the complete Sword & Shield era introduces Pokémon V, VMAX, VSTAR, Radiant, Amazing Rare and Trainer Gallery cards.
21,115 collectible cards across 127 English booster sets, 10 vintage Japanese Pocket Monsters Card Game expansions (1996-2001), 53 WotC Black Star Promos, 153 POP-series Play! Pokémon promos (2004-2009), and Trainer Gallery subsets. The catalogue is built from the open-source Pokemon TCG API and includes Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur and the original 16 holos from Base Set, Shining Pokemon, Crystal Pokemon, every Pokemon-ex from Ruby & Sapphire through Power Keepers, Gold Star Pokemon, Delta Species, Diamond & Pearl + Platinum Lv.X, HGSS Prime + LEGEND, BW Full Art, XY Mega EX and BREAK, Sun & Moon GX, Sword & Shield V/VMAX/VSTAR, and Scarlet & Violet Illustration Rare / Special Illustration Rare chase cards.
Most WotC-era packs contain 11 cards (1 Rare or Holo Rare, 3 Uncommon, 5 Common, 2 Energy). The single rare slot splits roughly 64% non-holo Rare, 28% Holo Rare and 5% Secret Rare, with ultra-rare tiers (Pokemon-ex, Shining, Crystal, Gold Star) layered into that same slot. e-Card era packs (Expedition, Aquapolis, Skyridge) shrink to 9 cards. EX-era packs (Ruby & Sapphire onwards) are also 9 cards but add a guaranteed reverse-holo slot and a roughly 1-in-6 chance at a Pokemon-ex. Neo Destiny rolls Shining Pokemon at about 2%; Aquapolis and Skyridge gate Crystal Pokemon to specific card IDs at roughly 1%. God Packs land 1-in-500 and deliver an all-holo 11-card rip.
Players open 5 free packs daily (6 with Cascade Badge, 7 with Hive Badge), earn coins by selling duplicates at real TCGPlayer market value (10% base sell rate, scaled by trainer level and badge multipliers), buy Basic (50), Premium (150) or Hunt (350) packs from the in-game shop, complete 3 daily / 1 weekly / 4 super quests, and progress through 16 Gym Badges (8 Kanto, 4 Johto, 4 Hoenn) that unlock permanent gameplay perks. A 28-day Monthly Login Calendar layers escalating coin rewards and weekly milestone packs on top. The Pack Dust crafting system lets every pulled card contribute set-specific dust (Common 1 → Crystal 50, +50% on duplicates) toward guaranteed acquisition of any missing card from that same set — endgame pity that doesn't break the per-pack economy.
Holo Rare and Secret Rare cards feature interactive holographic shimmer effects that follow your mouse or touch. Drag cards to tilt them and inspect the foil from every angle. Crystal Pokemon use a translucent prismatic effect; Pokemon-ex carry a red-orange-gold metallic shimmer; Gold Star Pokemon have a unique gold-overlay foil; Shining Pokemon glow with a metallic alternate-colour sheen; Delta Species (δ) Pokemon layer a violet-cyan-rose dual-type tint that composes on top of any underlying rarity. God Packs (1-in-500) deliver an all-holo 11-card pull.
